abstract
during an investigation on edaphic mite fauna of wheat fields in abarkooh (yazd province) and citrus orchards in jahrom (fars province), some specimens belonging to the family oplitidae were collected and identified as oplitis paradoxa (canestrini & berlese). this is the first report of this species from iran.
